About us
We believe your creative voice is the most important thing—and it deserves to emerge in its most powerful, authentic form. At Indie Film Doctor, we help you clarify and elevate your story while fiercely protecting the integrity of your vision.
Simon Lex
Simon Lex is a multi award-winning filmmaker who works across directing, acting, script consulting, coaching, and editing. He’s someone filmmakers turn to when they need clarity in the chaos—whether that’s shaping a story, deepening a performance, or finding their footing again in the middle of a creative fog.
Having recently worked as acting consultant on the latest film by Academy Award-winner Orlando von Einsiedel, and trained with Adrienne Weiss and Meisner teacher Tom Radcliffe, Simon brings a thoughtful, collaborative presence to each project. His approach is grounded, flexible, and always in service of the story you’re trying to tell.

As a trained Critical Response Process facilitator, Simon offers a way of working that helps filmmakers stay connected to their voice while navigating feedback, self-doubt, or creative blocks. It’s a method that invites clarity without judgement, and decision-making without overwhelm.
With experience on both sides of the camera and in the edit, Simon understands how vulnerable—and vital—each part of the process can feel. His work is about holding space for that, while helping filmmakers move forward with confidence, insight, and momentum.

My coaching draws from humanistic and Jungian psychology, placing you—the client—at the heart of the process. I believe you already hold the resources you need to grow. Together, we bring light to the unconscious patterns that shape your work and life, using radical self-inquiry and creative exploration. Whether you’re stuck in self-doubt, wrestling with a project that won’t move forward, or navigating the pressure of leadership, I offer a space where trust, truthfulness, and courage can flourish.
I also understand that sometimes you just need clarity and direction. My approach is adaptable—ranging from deep exploratory work to focused, solution-oriented coaching—depending on where you are and what you need most.
With lived experience of career transitions, project development, and the creative grind, I help clients turn inner awareness into outer action. My aim is to support you in showing up more fully to your craft, and to yourself.

What Our Clients Say
We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with bold, passionate filmmakers and creatives. Here’s what they have to say about working with Indie Film Doctor—and how we helped bring their vision to life.

Rozemarijn Logtenberg
“Working with Simon was an incredibly rewarding experience. As a filmmaker, he brings a sharp eye for story structure, tone, and depth. Over the course of several video calls and feedback sessions, Simon helped me take my short film script to a new level. He asked the right questions, challenged me to go deeper, and always offered thoughtful, constructive feedback. He never imposed his own vision but helped me clarify mine. I came away not only with a stronger script, but also with a clearer sense of my own voice as a writer. I’d highly recommend working with Simon to anyone serious about making their story the best it can be.”

Orlando Von Einsiedel
“Working with Simon is a dream and he comes with a wealth of talents. He’s brilliant with story and character, and has experience on both sides of the camera. I’ve worked with him on deep character work with actors, to develop improvised scenes, and throughout the rehearsal period of a production. As a director who predominantly works in documentaries, Simon has also helped me develop my own method of working alongside actors which has been invaluable. He’s a lot of fun to work with and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.”

Chirag Benedict Lobo
“Simon Lex has a huge role to play in giving me my best experience as an artist and a human being. He not only introduced me to a new form of approaching acting but he also showed me how creating the right environment can help artists both in front and behind the camera make their best work. Most importantly his work is rooted in truth always.”
